Sepultura bring their Celebrating Life Through Death Tour to Saarbrücken: the Brazilian band takes the stage at the Garage on 17 June 2026. Founded in 1984 in Belo Horizonte, the group initially combined thrash and death metal with a fast, dark drive. Albums such as Beneath the Remains and Arise shaped their precise, riff-driven sound, before Chaos A.D. and Roots introduced heavier grooves, a closer connection to hardcore and influences from Brazilian percussion – a move toward more open structures and new tonal colors.

After the departures of Max and Igor Cavalera, Sepultura regrouped around singer Derrick Green and guitarist Andreas Kisser. Later works like Machine Messiah and Quadra link contemporary thrash with progressive textures and distinctive, percussion‑driven passages; lyrically, many songs address social, political and identity-related themes. Live, the band spans all phases: early assaults, massive midtempo pulses and pieces in which the rhythmic foundation sets the tone.
