Allison Russell brings her In The Hour of Chaos Tour to Winnipeg on November 4, 2026 at Burton Cummings Theatre. Rooted in folk, Americana and roots music, her set moves between intimate narratives and rhythm-forward textures. Drawing from Outside Child and The Returner, she explores threads of childhood, memory and renewal, opening her palette to soul shades. Voice, guitar, banjo and at times clarinet sketch arrangements that stay acoustic at heart while leaning into a contemporary pulse, in continuity with her paths through Po’ Girl, Birds of Chicago and the collective Our Native Daughters. The concert centers on songwriting and storytelling, with melodies carrying as much weight as the words.
Also on the bill, Toronto singer-songwriter AHI brings an acoustic, roots-leaning folk set touched by soul, revisiting songs from In Our Time and Prospect with a focus on clear, unadorned delivery.
