Info
Angine de Poitrine plays Fan Park in Edmonton on July 9, 2026. Behind the name, Klek and Khn de Poitrine form a Quebec instrumental duo launched in 2023, writing at the crossroads of experimental rock, math rock and angular post-punk, with a pulse built on the logic of techno repetition.
They shape pieces by stacking and stripping short motifs, favoring small shifts over big breaks. The drums hit dry and precise; guitar and bass trace microtonal lines; chromatic phrases tighten the frame and nudge the harmony off-center. Structures lean asymmetrical, building discreet tension through motion, variation and rhythmic displacement. No vocals, just circuitry in constant movement, compact, jagged, with a danceable edge.
Their first release, Vol. 1 (2024), set the method and carried them across Quebec stages, including a stop at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Live, they fold rock energy into a minimal, evolving repetition, keeping patterns alive as they morph. At Fan Park, the set advances by accumulation and subtraction, played with clarity and economy, where each shift redraws the groove without breaking its flow.
