JPEGMAFIA brings his Experimental Rap Tour to Vancouver on September 24, 2026 at the Commodore Ballroom. Born in Brooklyn to a Jamaican family and raised between New York, the South and long stays abroad, Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks forged a singular path that runs through DIY releases as Devon Hendryx, a move to Baltimore, and a scene charged with political tension. Under the JPEGMAFIA alias, he shapes a sound that splices experimental hip‑hop, alternative rap and industrial textures with glitch, warped R&B and lo‑fi grit, favoring abrupt cuts, rhythmic swerves and a balance between bite, irony and drifting melodies.
On stage, he reworks his own production in real time, jumping from snarled verses to sung fragments, looping fragments into dense collages and pivoting tempos without warning. The set draws from Black Ben Carson, the breakthrough of Veteran, the jagged pop frictions of All My Heroes Are Cornballs and the raw edges of LP!, then folds in recent collaborations like Scaring the Hoes with Danny Brown and the 2024 project I Lay Down My Life for You. Expect a tight, restless journey through his catalogue—built for a room where every shift lands.
