Dave Lofts plays Cyprus Avenue, Caroline Street, Cork, on 12 September 2026. Born in County Wicklow and based in Waterford, the Irish singer-songwriter moves between folk, pop and soul with a rough-edged, straight-talking voice rooted in Ireland’s song and rock traditions. He first made a mark on the live circuit with covers of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill and Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under, before bringing his own material to the front: Tell Me, Let Me Go Home and Just A Man, tracks that look at anxiety and mental health with a clear melodic line. His path also includes a salute to Shane MacGowan with Song With No Name, and a rendition of Kitty during the After Session in Tipperary following The Pogues frontman’s funeral. Signed to B-Unique in London, he has shared stages with Damien Dempsey, Gavin James and Kingfishr, and appeared at Kaleidoscope, Sea Sessions, All Together Now and Electric Picnic. On stage he keeps it acoustic at heart, favoring clean melodies and a vocal intensity that connects his covers to his originals.
