Info
The Cure play Marlay Park, Dublin, on 26 June 2026. Led by Robert Smith, the Crawley-formed band moves between post-punk roots and gothic shades, with pop and new wave running through. On stage they tend to stretch songs, layering guitars and keys, letting slow pulses swell before snapping into tighter, faster passages.
Sets often weave early starkness (A Forest, Primary), the brighter pop side of the mid-80s (In Between Days, Just Like Heaven, Friday I’m in Love), and the expansive moods of Disintegration (Pictures of You, Plainsong), alongside later tracks driven by Simon Gallup’s bass. Guitars chime and bite, synths soften the edges, and Smith’s voice keeps the melancholy close without losing momentum.
The Cure’s live shows usually balance deep cuts with sing-alongs, slipping from slow-burn ballads to punchier pieces. Marlay Park gives them the space for long builds and sudden peaks, a good match for those contrasts and the band’s dynamic range.
