De Staat

De Staat land in Dublin on 11 November 2026 at The Grand Social. Launched in Nijmegen by Torre Florim in 2006, the Dutch band grew from a writing project into a tight live unit where angular guitars, a heavy low end and a post-punk pulse lock into dance-friendly patterns. Their catalogue maps that balance between abrasion and melody: Wait for Evolution (2009) and Machinery (2011) set the foundation; I_CON (2013) sharpened the hooks; O (2016) and Bubble Gum (2019) brought in more synthetic colours without breaking the band dynamic. On stage, the focus is groove and repetition, chanted refrains and a rhythm section that keeps the pressure up. With Florim alongside Rocco Hueting, Jop van Summeren and Tim van Delft, De Staat move as a unit, shifting from indie-leaning riffs to rougher pop textures and back again. The set draws across these phases, stacking motifs and playing on tension and release, with those collective vocal moments that pull the room in.
