Seinabo Sey

Seinabo Sey returns to Halmstad with a show shaped by her Swedish and Gambian roots, a clear melodic sense and a voice that sits low, warm and direct. Emerging in 2013 with Younger, then Hard Time and Pistols at Dawn, she built a sound that blends soul-leaning pop with pared-back electronics and a measured rhythmic drive. Her writing taps into personal narratives without overstatement, carried by production that leaves space for phrasing and dynamics.

Across Pretend (2015), I’m a Dream (2018) and The One After Me (2023), she moves between intimate confession and wider pop contours, refining a balance of hooks and atmosphere. Live, that catalogue opens onto slow-burn crescendos, close-focus ballads and mid-tempo grooves that keep the voice at the center. Collaborations with Jacob Banks, Vargas & Lagola, Waterbaby or Dina Ögon have broadened her palette without diluting her identity.
