Lucinda Williams

On September 20, 2026, Lucinda Williams brings her plainspoken storytelling to Fållan in Johanneshov, Sweden. Born in Lake Charles and raised across the American South by a poet father, she folds country, folk, blues, rock and Americana into songs rooted in roads, towns and everyday lives. After early sets of country and blues on Ramblin’ on My Mind (1979) and Happy Woman Blues (1980), she came into focus with Lucinda Williams (1988) and Sweet Old World (1992), before widening the frame on Car Wheels on a Gravel Road (1998), where roots rock rubs against slow-burn ballads. From Essence (2001) and World Without Tears (2003) to West (2007), Blessed (2011), Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone (2014), The Ghosts of Highway 20 (2016), Good Souls Better Angels (2020) and Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart (2023), her grainy voice and direct writing stay central. Her live sets favor unadorned arrangements that keep the lyrics in front and let the groove carry the stories.
