Emei « Night at the Opera Tour »

Emei brings her Night at the Opera Tour to Toronto on October 13, 2026 at Danforth Music Hall. Born Emily Li in New Jersey to Chinese immigrant parents, she grew up moving between cultures and stages, from a third-place finish on Chinese Idol as a teenager to studying cognitive science at Yale while singing with the a cappella group Mixed Company, before settling in Los Angeles. Since 2021, Emei has shaped an alternative pop sound at the crossroads of indie pop and pop rock: concise songwriting, taut refrains, guitar-leaning textures and lyrics that balance dry humor with a hint of fragility. Her catalog runs from early singles Distracted and Late to the Party to the EPs End of an Era (2022), Scatterbrain (2023, expanded in 2024) and RABBITHOLE (2024). She’s also collaborated with NOTD on Hold On Me (2023) and with Whethan on SUNNYD (2024). On stage, she pushes these tracks with a tight, high-energy setup and agile vocals, sliding between punchy choruses and more stripped-back moments for a set that maps the different shades of her alt-pop palette.
