Piñata Radio is an independent online music radio station based in Montpellier since 2018.

Dedicated to promoting local scenes and emerging artists, this platform streams continuously thanks to the participation of hundreds of DJs, collectives and labels, both local and international, offering an eclectic programming.

Piñata Radio has also grown through a festival, events, workshops, a label and a public venue devoted to music and its community.

This year, Point Éphémère is tuning its frequency to independent online radio stations.

During several sessions, the broadcast will be directed into the concert hall, where different online radio stations will embody the scenes they champion through live performances and DJ sets. This provides an opportunity for these independent, volunteer-run initiatives to raise awareness of their broadcasts and to fund their activities.

Like Station Station, Piñata Radio or Radio Alhara, these bar‑radios or club‑radios, nomadic streams or stations without a fixed studio extend the spirit of the free radio movement, imbuing it with a digital dimension. Serving as refuges for avant‑garde music, these organisations defend a committed approach to curation.
