Info
Murray Head takes over the Opéra de Vichy on August 1, 2026, for a concert that retraces his career as a British singer and actor. Discovered at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s in rock musical theatre, he lent his voice to Judas on the concept album "Jesus Christ Superstar," then carved out a niche as a singer-songwriter between folk and pop rock with songs like "Nigel Lived," "Say It Ain't So" and "Between Us." Accompanied by his musicians, he revisits the songs that have shaped his path, from narrative ballads to more driving numbers, including the pieces he wrote for the musical "Chess" and the single "One Night in Bangkok."
Partly based in France, Murray Head maintains a direct connection with French-speaking audiences. On stage he favors interaction, arrangements that place voice and guitars at the forefront, and a musical tension that runs through his different periods, from folk to new wave textures. It is an opportunity to rediscover a repertoire where pop, rock and musical theatre intersect, in the auditorium of the Opéra de Vichy.
