On October 10, 2026 at the Trianon Transatlantique in Sotteville-lès-Rouen, Flox presents Thing in Itself, his eighth album, informed by Kantian philosophy. An Englishman based in France, he has been carving out a niche since the early 2000s at the intersection of roots reggae, dub and electronic music, somewhere between nu-reggae and chanson. A multi-instrumentalist and producer, he crafts tracks where the bass takes the lead, tempos remain laid-back and digital textures interlock with an organic warmth. Seven albums and European tours later, his new record explores perception, truth and otherness, as if each piece opened a different prism.

The “Ding an sich,” that ‘‘thing-in-itself’’ our consciousnesses filter, becomes a fragmented rhythmic and lyrical motif that questions the way we listen as much as the way we understand ourselves. On stage, Flox tightens the setup: measured vocals, clear melodic lines, deep bass and precise electronics. A live performance that moves between Jamaican groove, finely crafted dub and electronic pulses, inviting a change of perspective for the length of a set.
