On November 11, 2026 at The Concert Hall in Toronto, Sammy Rae & The Friends join Melt for a double bill centered on ensemble interplay and sharp songcraft.
Led by singer and songwriter Samantha “Sammy Rae” Bowers, Sammy Rae & The Friends took shape in Brooklyn in 2016 as a collective with horns, rhythm section and keys. The group blends jazz-pop, soul, funk, rock and a hint of folk, favoring choral hooks and arrangements built for the stage. After early EPs The Good Life (2018) and Let’s Throw a Party (2021), the band expanded its touring, released the live set The If It All Goes South Tour (Live) in 2023, then its first studio album Something For Everybody in 2024, followed by the covers project Songs We Wish We Wrote in 2025.
Melt emerged in New York in 2017, crystallizing around vocalist Veronica Stewart-Frommer with guitarist Marlo Shankweiler and bassist Lucas Saur. Their writing sits between indie pop, soul, soft rock and R&B-leaning pop, with warm arrangements and layered harmonies. After the single Sour Candy and the EP West Side Highway (2021), the band unveiled its debut album If There’s a Heaven in 2024, produced by Sam Evian and recorded live for an organic, in-the-room feel.
