Info
The New Zealanders woven into the fabric of Berlin klubkultur.
One Night In... exists in the quiet spaces where global rhythms collide and settle. We return to our home at Beate Uwe on Friday 3 April to trace the long, resilient thread between the Pacific and the Spree.
This isn't a visiting showcase; it's an alignment of a decade's worth of integration. It's about the New Zealanders who didn't just arrive; they stayed and set about becoming the architects of the scene they once sought. This is a gathering of Aotearoa's talent that has spent ten years in the Berlin underground.
Featuring:
- Kava and Friends: Opening the floor. Kava brings a background in nocturnal adventuring from Wellington to São Paulo to Berlin, specializing in a defrag style of soul, house, and global rhythms.
- Bandit: Percussive and bass-heavy rhythms. Focused on syncopation, bridging a hip-hop education with modern low-end weight.
- Simon Beeston: A veteran of the Berlin circuit known for swinging dance music. His sets prioritize the pocket and a steady groove.
- Dilby: Deep and groovy house rhythms. Focused on late-night momentum and sound engineering.
- Philippa: Long-standing NZ experience. A decade spent shaping Berlin’s production DNA. Soulful selection for the final hours.
