Celtic Legends

Celtic Legends returns to the stage with a new version of its Irish music and dance show. Born in Galway, in the heart of Connemara, the project pairs an acoustic band with a troupe of step dancers in a constant interplay between brisk rhythms and gentler melodies. Reels, jigs and ballads follow one another, recreating the atmosphere of a traditional pub, carried by the dancers’ collective energy and the precision of the live performance.

At the Vendéspace on 15 April 2026, five musicians perform under the direction of Sean McCarthy and twelve dancers are led by choreographer Jacintha Sharpe. Group choreographies, tight duets and percussive solos interlock, playing on contrasts, breaks and the syncopations typical of Irish dance. The musical writing favours stripped-down arrangements that highlight tempo, offbeats and pulse, while allowing the more melodic moments to breathe.

For more than twenty years, Celtic Legends has toured the world’s stages with this compact, lively format. This new incarnation in 2026 continues on the same course: a tradition brought into the present, tailored for the stage.
