Laurent Baffie « Oh putain Laurent ! »

Laurent Baffie returns to the stage with Oh, f***ing Laurent, a title that sets the tone: speak bluntly, answer off the cuff and play with the little refrain of “you can’t say anything anymore.” True to his taste for improvisation and counterpoint, Baffie strings together short gags, digressions and exchanges with the audience. He aims wide: manners, the media, politics, everyday tics. His playground is the moment; he bounces off reactions, subverts taboos and flips the questions nobody dares ask. Author and director as much as comedian, he brings years of radio and TV sparring, a taste for the absurd and for lists that spiral out of control, and finely honed verbal mechanics.

Here there is no moralizing or posing: rather a desire to test the limit, to shift the lines and see what survives a fit of laughter. It stings at times, it often veers off, and the audience becomes a partner in the act.
