Celtic Legends

On February 9, 2027, at the Arena Futuroscope in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, Celtic Legends celebrates its 25th anniversary with a new show that refocuses everything on the energy of live Irish dance. The company brings together dancers, musicians and singers in a constant dialogue between percussive footwork and melody, carried by Jacintha Sharpe’s choreography and Sean McCarthy’s musical direction. On stage, five musicians set the tempo and colours of the Celtic repertoire with uilleann pipes, penny whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar. Reels, jigs and ballads follow one another, alternating ensemble pieces and solos, in a format conceived as a direct, no-frills encounter with Irish tradition. After years of touring the world, Celtic Legends returns with an entirely live set that emphasises rhythm, attentive listening and collective precision, in a fluid staging where the dance answers every musical phrase. It is a way of revisiting a quarter-century of history while preserving the company’s original spirit.
