CIEL, based in Brighton and led by Dutch musician Michelle Hindriks, weaves a shadowed indie rock that intersects shoegaze and post-punk. Abrasive guitars, hazy soundscapes and half-light melodies shape a dense, restrained sound. With their debut album Call Me Silent, the trio probes questions of identity, mental health and relationships in a songwriting approach that favors tension over emphasis. On stage, the band balances muted explosions and icy choruses, in a lineage comparable to Slowdive, Wolf Alice or The Cure.
CQ Wrestling, the new name for Chappaqua Wrestling, brings together singer-songwriters Jake Mac and Charlie Woods around indie rock driven by taut, nervy guitars. Forthright lyrics about everyday life, political disillusionment and social fractures, tight rhythms and direct vocals: the band proceeds without détour, between indie and alternative rock, heir to a British tradition that prioritizes melody. In Lorient they will deliver a compact set focused on melody.
