La Ruda

La Ruda will stop in Rennes on 16 May 2026 at L’Étage. Born in Saumur in the early 1990s under the name La Ruda Salska, the band built its identity on a blend of alternative rock and ska-driven rhythms carried by a prominent brass section. Fronted by Pierrot on vocals, the group has honed its songwriting across its albums, from the fast, collective tracks of Le Prix du silence and L’Art de la joie to the more narrative songs of Passager du réel, then a shift toward a rockier sound with 24 images/seconde and La Trajectoire de l’homme-canon. Les Bonnes Manières revealed an acoustic side, followed by Grand Soir and Odéon 10-14.

On stage, La Ruda remains true to this upfront ensemble approach that mixes tight riffs, melodic brass and French phrasing delivered with a crisp cadence. This Rennes date brings together the band’s different eras, from the ska momentum of their beginnings to more electric textures, with the collective energy that has become their concert trademark. It’s a return that puts the live show back at the center, without frills, drawing heavily on a repertoire shaped for the stage.
