Info
On June 14, 2026 at La Scala, Paris, Lou Trotignon presents Mérou, a stage piece in which they put their transition and non-binary identity on display. Between stand-up, intimate storytelling and gestures borrowed from cabaret, Lou unfolds a direct, no-frills journey: starting testosterone, moments of striptease, the discovery of queer communities. From a simple question — must we remain what we were told to be? — they explore how to shift labels, reinvent the body and redefine one’s relationships to love.
The experience begins in the lobby with an immersive exhibition built around archives, voices and images that evoke memories and set the framework for the performance. The auditorium then opens onto Mérou, preceded by cabaret performances from MAISON FURIEUSE, like a scenic prologue that prepares the audience and broadens perspectives. On stage, Lou blends humor, pedagogy and fragments of life to examine the themes that run through their work: identity, sexuality, consent, sex work, and the ways our personal narratives clash with collective norms. An evening conceived as a passage—from archive to stage, from storytelling to celebration.
