Stephan Eicher presents Seul en Scène, a return to the heart of his songs in a stripped-down format. On 31 May 2026 at Le Pin Galant in Mérignac, he revisits a repertoire shaped since the 1980s, from his early work marked by electronics and new wave to a more folk and pop vein. A polyglot singer, he alternates between French, German and English, supported by lyrics often co-written with Philippe Djian and by melodies that favour simplicity and precise detail. Solo, the voice comes to the forefront, the arrangements are tightened, and the songs gain in intimacy without losing their rhythmic drive.
You’ll find the melancholic songwriting that defined Engelberg and Carcassonne, more recent pieces such as those from Homeless Songs, and the oscillation between acoustic ballads and understated pulses. Far from mere showmanship, Eicher reshuffles his repertoire to bring out its subtleties, between half-whispered confidences and pop accents.
