On September 2, 2026 at the Trabendo, Dance Gavin Dance descends with its distinctive blend of post-hardcore, funk, metalcore and pop built on intricate, head-scratching song structures. Formed in Sacramento in 2005, the band today lines up Andrew Wells on vocals and guitar, Jon Mess as frontman delivering screamed vocals, Will Swan on lead guitar and Matthew Mingus on drums. Their trademark lies in the contrast between screams and clean singing, winding riffs, punchy grooves and progressive passages that disrupt conventional formats.

After a period shaken by the passing of bassist Tim Feerick and several internal changes, Dance Gavin Dance has refocused with Pantheon, a new album that reconnects with heavier, more experimental roots. On stage, the band slips from math-rock passages to hook-laden choruses, stringing together tempo breaks and tension buildups without ever losing momentum.
