On November 20, 2026, at FIDUCIAL Astéria in Décines-Charpieu, Hiba Tawaji invites Ibrahim Maalouf for a concert conceived as a face-to-face encounter between voice and trumpet. Trained between Beirut and Paris, Hiba is a singer and actress who moves between Arabic repertoire and French-language songs. Her clear timbre and storytelling instinct carry pop ballads, reinterpretations and more lyrical pieces, with a taste for arrangements that borrow from both classical music and jazz. On stage she unfolds a thread that blends Levantine music with a more contemporary songwriting.
Ibrahim Maalouf brings his quarter-tone trumpet, expansive melodies and a mastery of improvisation nourished by jazz and Middle Eastern music. Accustomed to collaborations, he weaves countermelodies, opens spaces for breath and lets themes circulate. Together they revisit standout pieces from their repertoires, drift toward joint compositions and more pared-down dialogues. A set in which the voice rises, the trumpet replies, and one moves naturally from an Arabic ballad to a French song, with instrumental detours that leave room for interplay and attentive listening.
