Anneke Van Giersbergen

A defining voice of Dutch atmospheric metal, Anneke Van Giersbergen returns with her band on November 14, 2026, to Ô Totem Live in Rillieux-la-Pape. First revealed with The Gathering, which she led for thirteen years, she has since explored a variety of formats and shades from 2007 onward — from Agua de Annique to her solo albums, through more prog-oriented ventures with VUUR and regular collaborations in the spheres of Ayreon, Devin Townsend and Anathema. On stage she brings this trajectory together in an electric set that blends alternative rock, melancholic metal and more acoustic interludes. Her repertoire draws as much from her solo records as from the landmark pages of The Gathering, while also paving the way for her forthcoming trilogy La Vie, La Mort, L’Amour (Life, Death, Love). The concert is conceived to make the different facets of her songwriting converse — between intensity, clear melodies and atmospheric textures — and is carried by a band built for both subtlety and powerful climaxes.
