Europe brings The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour to Falkoner Salen in Frederiksberg on 22 October 2026. Formed in 1979 by singer Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum, the Swedish band shaped a melodic hard rock blend of soaring vocals, prominent keyboards and sharp guitar work. The 1986 album The Final Countdown took them worldwide; its title track stands next to Carrie and Rock the Night in a repertoire that still drives their live energy.
Four decades on, the Tempest–Norum core leads a show that looks back across the map: the early bite of Wings of Tomorrow, the polished hooks of Prisoners in Paradise, then the 2000s return with Start from the Dark and War of Kings, where the tone turned rougher and bluesier. The anniversary spotlight stays on The Final Countdown, but the night opens a wider window on Europe’s catalogue, balancing sing-along choruses with heavier corners and giving space to the band’s long-running chemistry.
