Altin Gün

On 1 July 2026 at Le Transbordeur in Villeurbanne, Altın Gün presents Garip, a new album that returns to the Anatolian folk-rock vein of the 1970s and pays tribute to Neşet Ertaş. Born in Amsterdam, the band brings together Turkish and Dutch female and male musicians and works from both traditional songs and original compositions, rearranged for the stage with psychedelic guitars, funk grooves, prominent keyboards, saz or bağlama lines and vocals in Turkish.

On stage, these elements interlock in taut arrangements that oscillate between disco-like pulses and more organic passages. Garip continues that balance between covers and original material, with a more earthy tone that brings the project’s Anatolian roots to the fore. At Le Transbordeur, the sextet unfolds its new pieces alongside standout tracks from their previous records, in a set where the rhythm section holds everything together and vintage textures put the voice and melodies in relief. It’s a much-anticipated stop on their European tour, conceived for the live show.
