On April 25, 2026 at La Java (Paris 10th arrondissement), Oleh Skrypka and Vopli Vidopliassova celebrate four decades on stage. Born in Kyiv’s 1980s underground, they shaped a singular sound where rock, punk, ska and Ukrainian folk motifs answer one another. Carried by Oleh Skrypka’s voice and energy, the band made its way from Kyiv’s cellars to international stages, with a Parisian stint in the early 1990s that enriched its story and exchanges.
On the program: a survey of the songs that have accompanied several generations — Tantsi, Vesna, Kraina Mriy, Liubov, and other tracks that have become the band’s touchstones. Taut riffs, danceable rhythms and melodies drawn from tradition mingle here, between rock drive and a festive spirit. An opportunity to dive into Vopli Vidopliassova’s repertoire and traverse 40 years of Ukrainian music up close, in the intimacy of La Java.
