Info
On Friday, March 20, 2026, Wavelength @ St. Anne’s in Toronto hosts a cross-disciplinary night under the Wavelength Music Festival banner, led by Bad Waitress, Bibi Club and bikebike.
Born in Toronto’s DIY scene, Bad Waitress pushes a punk sound cut with garage grit, noise edges and flashes of post-hardcore. Angular riffs and a punchy rhythm section drive vocals that flip from sung lines to shouts and spoken bursts. From Party Bangers, Vol. 1 to No Taste, they sharpened tempo swerves and jagged dynamics with a raw, city-charged tension.
From Montréal, Bibi Club unites singer-keyboardist Adèle Trottier-Rivard and guitarist Nicolas Basque in a francophone pop that blends minimal drum machines, looping synths and intimate melodies. Their album Le soleil et la mer (Secret City, 2022) set the tone: soft electronics, steady pulses, night-leaning warmth. The duo’s voice-and-electronics setup keeps things close and immersive, with a 2025 Polaris shortlist nod along the way.
Toronto’s bikebike leans into groovy eclecticism, sliding between styles with elastic bass lines and bright percussion, built to keep bodies moving without staying in one lane.
The program expands with poetry by Farhia Tato and Eva HD, a reading from Melissa Auf der Maur, projection art by General Chaos Visuals with the Liquid Crystal Display, and installations by Stephanie Avery and Roxanne Ignatius.
