On 12 May 2026 at Neue Zukunft, Berlin, Topsy Turvy turn the stage into a moving target. Expect instrument swaps mid‑song, operatic vocals cutting across Van Halen‑style synths, and a set that darts between garage punk, surf, vintage rock and flashes of psychedelia. Born out of Vienna’s DIY hub, the band runs a clear thread from the Girls In The Garage compilations to the bite of Amyl and The Sniffers or Automatic. It’s restless and physical, part sing‑along, part scuzz, with a stance that pushes back against macho posturing.
Salamirecorder cut the latest album, Inside The Cage, straight to tape on a trusty 4‑track, and brings that grainy edge to the stage with The Hi‑Fi Phonos. Live, the band folds 60s Back From The Grave garage punk into touches of early trash‑mixtape power pop. The sound stays rough, loud and vivid, all forward momentum and sharp hooks, built for quick turns and a room that wants the volume up.
