On April 22, 2026, Admiral Freebee performs at Melkweg in Amsterdam. Behind that name is Antwerp native Tom Van Laere, a songwriter blending rock, folk, blues and a touch of Americana. Since Humo’s Rock Rally he has built a catalogue that ranges from slow, melodic ballads to grittier electric songs, always driven by voice and guitar. Albums such as the self-titled debut, Songs, Wild Dreams of New Beginnings, The Honey & The Knife, The Great Scam and Wake Up and Dream map his trajectory; The Gardener (2022) marks his more recent solo period with compact, direct songs.
