Diggy Dex

Zuiderpark Live brings Diggy Dex to the Zuiderparktheater in The Hague on 18 July 2026. Koen Jansen, better known as Diggy Dex, came up in the early 2000s in the Amersfoort collective D.A.C. and then set out solo: Dutch‑language rap with a songwriter’s ear for melody. His lyrics revolve around everyday life, relationships and doubts, with choruses that stick and productions that navigate between hip‑hop and pop.

Since his debut Verhalen vanuit de sofa (2006) he has steadily shifted from the classic rap formula toward more sung, warmly arranged songs. Mayonaise Voor De Ziel (2010), Do It Yourself Society (2012) and Golven (2015) continued that trajectory with folk and soul accents. On stage this translates into a set that can switch between laid‑back grooves and intimate moments, carried by strong hooks. Collaborations, including with JW Roy, have placed him just as easily on pop as on hip‑hop stages. At the Zuiderparktheater that hybrid approach comes alive outdoors: stories front and centre, beats that propel just enough.
