Nick Mulvey

On 24 May 2026, Nick Mulvey will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. The British musician, singer and songwriter developed his own musical vocabulary between Spain, Cuba and London. As a co‑founder of Portico Quartet he gained early recognition around the Mercury Prize, after which he went solo with two albums and received another nomination. His songs blend folk, world‑music influences and acoustic textures. He works with percussive guitar patterns, circling rhythms and a voice that keeps its intimacy even when the groove deepens.

On stage Mulvey moves effortlessly between fingerpicking and pulsing layers without losing the heart of the song. His set explores rhythm and silence, melody and repetition, leaving room for small details that emerge live.
