Gorgoroth

Gorgoroth returns to the stage: on 21 March 2026 the Norwegian black metal band will perform at Poppodium P60 in Amstelveen. Founded in 1992 in Bergen by guitarist Infernus, the group built a reputation on a raw, direct sound: razor-sharp riffs, high tempos, piercing vocals and lyrical themes rooted in the orthodox black metal tradition. Early albums such as Pentagram, Antichrist and Under the Sign of Hell set the tone with spare production and concise structures. Later releases—Destroyer, Incipit Satan and Twilight of the Idols—expanded the sound without abandoning its core: minimalist, repetitive motifs and a cold, desolate atmosphere.

Over the years the lineup changed, featuring vocalists such as Hat, Pest and Gaahl, while Infernus steered the band and defended the name Gorgoroth. That continuity is audible on Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam, Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt and Instinctus Bestialis. Live, the focus is on compact, charged songs, relentless blastbeats and a strong visual element that further darkens the music. In Amstelveen you can expect a set that touches on the band’s various phases—from the raw early years to the later material—delivered with the unpolished energy that defines Gorgoroth.
