Info
On 19 March 2026 Ten Years After will perform at Cpunt Poppodium in Hoofddorp. The British blues-rock band formed in late 1960s England around guitarist/vocalist Alvin Lee, bassist Leo Lyons, drummer Ric Lee and keyboardist Chick Churchill. They first drew attention on the London club scene and released their self-titled debut in 1967, a blend of electric blues, boogie and psychedelic rock. Their name spread worldwide through festival appearances; at Woodstock (1969) “I’m Going Home” became their calling card, with rapid guitar lines and extended improvisations.
The records from that period set the tone: Stonedhenge and Ssssh (1969), Cricklewood Green and Watt (1970), A Space in Time (1971) with “I’d Love to Change the World,” followed by Rock & Roll Music to the World (1972), the live album Recorded Live (1973) and Positive Vibrations (1974). After a break the band returned with About Time (1989) and, since the 2000s without Alvin Lee, with first Joe Gooch and later Marcus Bonfanti on vocals/guitar, alongside Ric Lee and Chick Churchill. Live, Ten Years After continue to build on that blueprint: blues rock with hard-rock and boogie injections, room for solos and the organ–guitar dialogue that carries their sound. In Hoofddorp you can expect a set that draws on the classics and the stamina of a band seasoned by life on stage.
