dEUS - Worst Case Versus In a Bar

dEUS will play SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen on 6 April 2026. Under the banner “Worst Case Versus In a Bar” the band will put the focus live on their early albums Worst Case Scenario and In a Bar, Under the Sea. The set moves between raw guitars and memorable melodies, with room for violin, keyboards and songs that don’t always follow a straight line. Frontman Tom Barman guides the group through winding structures and compact eruptions, from nervous scraps of noise to loose, almost cinematic passages.

Since the early 1990s dEUS has forged its own language in which indie rock, experimentation and art rock intersect. On stage that mix sounds physical: tight grooves under grinding riffs, details that push a chorus subtly in a different direction. The material from those two records gains new accents and arcs of tension live, with direct songs and more expansive compositions alternating. No detours into anecdotes—rather a set focused on the essence of those songs and the energy of the moment.
