Omnium Gatherum

Omnium Gatherum will play on 5 March 2026 at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The Finnish band from Kotka, active since 1996, carves out its own path within melodic death metal: melancholic melodies, tight Göteborg-school riffs and keyboards that create space, with occasional progressive turns. Guitarist and driving force Markus Vanhala is responsible for the core of the sound; since 2006 Jukka Pelkonen has provided the group’s consistent voice with his low growls.

On stage the band mixes fast, crisply articulated passages with open, atmospheric sections and subtle synth layers. The set leans on recent work such as Origin (2021) and The Burning Cold (2018), supplemented by earlier chapters like The Redshift, New World Shadows and Beyond. With tempo changes, long arcs of tension and twin leads that place melody above brute force—without losing the headbanging riff—Omnium Gatherum constructs songs that are both immediately impactful and that gradually unfold.
