Info
Goodbye Karelle is the musical project led by Québécois artist Karelle Tremblay, to be discovered on 30 May 2026 at the Pop-up du Label in Paris. Between spoken word and alternative pop, she moves along a clear line where spoken and sung voice guide everything, with suspended melodies and lyrics that are intimately close to the body. Her debut album, Hugh Greene & the Lucies Made Me, established this stripped-down and precise framework.
In her songs, Goodbye Karelle speaks of love that fractures, of solitude that clings, of memories that refuse to fade. Her deep, inhabited voice explores the blurred zones of identity, gender, and desire. She writes as one fills a private notebook and composes as one reassembles fragments, in a gesture that is at once fragile and forthright.
Born from a Québécois scene that unsettles conventions, Goodbye Karelle sidesteps verse-chorus formats and blends music, imagery, and the staging of the self. The work shows an almost cinematic minimalism, restrained tempos, and ample space for words and silences.
On stage, there is no mask or pose: Goodbye Karelle presents a clear presence, where phrasing, breaths, and the tension of the text lead the way, in both French and English. It is a project conceived for close listening, inviting the audience into an interior narrative without embellishment.
