The Twilight Sad - Tour 2026

Robert Smith of The Cure once said, in essence, that this band deserved a larger audience. The Twilight Sad from Kilsyth have grown from a circle of friends into a group that tours the world — through perseverance, hard work and five studio albums that have steadily sharpened their signature sound.

On 22 April 2026 at the Gruenspan in Hamburg the core duo James Graham and Andy MacFarlane will bring their dense, dark indie sound to the stage: post‑punk tension, shoegaze shimmer, heavy guitars, cold synths and a voice that does not hide its Scottish timbre. From their debut Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters (2007) to It Won't Be Like This All the Time (2019), the band has explored the ground between walls of noise and melody, between introspection and force.

Live they tighten that dynamic even further: pieces from every era interlock, older songs often sounding sharper or given more electronic accent. Their shared history with Mogwai and The Cure is audible without drowning out their own voice — concentrated, urgent, direct. It’s an evening that makes the band’s development clearly audible and shows why their sound works on stages both large and small.
