On stage, the Canadian emphasizes intimacy: a stripped-down setup where the singing leads, somewhere between avant-pop and intimate folk. With Shine, he tells of a quiet reclaiming—regaining momentum after stagnation and restoring hope to the songs. The guitar takes center stage, tightening the arrangements around the melodies.

Born of a retreat in Crete, Shine looks as much to Tatsuro Yamashita as to Elliott Smith. The opener, “Feel Like A Child,” sets the tone: clear lines, a subtle pulse, and direct lyrics. Recorded in Los Angeles with Mac DeMarco producing, the album places Savage’s voice front and center, raw and intuitive.
