The Haunted Youth

The Haunted Youth, the Belgian project led by Joachim Liebens, brings its dreamy indie sound to Molotow in Hamburg on April 10, 2026. Between dream pop, subtle shoegaze and melodic indie rock, the band blends expansive, reverb-soaked guitars with nostalgic synths. Liebens writes personal lyrics about youth, doubt and the struggle of losing and finding oneself — material that comes across more compact and direct in concert without losing the shimmering layers of the studio recordings.

After the early singles "Teen Rebel", "Coming Home", "Broken" and "Gone", the debut album Dawn of the Freak was released in 2022; it opened doors for the band to clubs across Europe and to festivals such as Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Sziget and Iceland Airwaves. In 2026 the second album Boys Cry Too follows, announced by the single "Emo Song", which places the risk of starting anew at its center. In Hamburg, The Haunted Youth will present new material alongside established songs — dreamy hooks, measured tempos, dense synth layers and guitars that dissolve into echo. On stage this amounts to a clear evolution of the sound: close to the feelings, free of pathos and focused on songs that connect.
