Info
Laurent Voulzy will perform on 1 October 2026 at the Cirque Royal in Brussels. The Parisian has been crafting his own blend of Anglo‑Saxon pop and chanson since the 1970s. With "Rockollection" (1977) he broke through: pared‑down melodies, instantly catchy choruses and winks to pop culture. He followed this with "Le Cœur grenadine", "Bopper et larmes" and "Caché derrière", where ballads, soft rock and layered vocal arrangements meet.
Alongside his long‑standing partnership with Alain Souchon, he has written and composed a large part of the French songbook while continuing to chart his own course. In the 2000s he broadened his palette with "Avril", explored the 1960s sound world through "La Septième Vague" and "Recollection", and moved toward more medieval and spiritual hues with "Lys & Love" within an atmospheric pop framework. On "Belem" he emphasizes smooth rhythms and finely woven harmonies.
On stage Voulzy brings that signature together: warm guitars, interlocking vocal layers and melodies that carry without forcing. In Brussels the different periods of his work converge in a set that places his craftsmanship and ear for sound and harmony at the centre.
