Info
On June 19, 2026 Amanda Shires will play the Cirque Royal in Brussels. Born in Lubbock, Texas, and raised between Lubbock and Mineral Wells, she operates at the intersection of alt-country, folk and Americana. As a teenager she already played fiddle with the Texas Playboys, heirs to Bob Wills’s western swing, and later with the Lubbock Thrift Store Cowboys. From Nashville she has built her path as a songwriter and singer: personal lyrics about relationships and everyday scenes, melodies anchored by the fiddle and a clear voice, with arrangements ranging from spare folk to more electric, atmospheric layers.
Alongside her solo work, Shires is a member of Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, a regular collaborator in the country and Americana scene, and co‑founder of The Highwomen with Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris and Natalie Hemby. Her trajectory runs from early records such as Being Brave and West Cross Timbers to Carrying Lightning, Down Fell the Doves, My Piece of Land and To the Sunset, through the winter album For Christmas, to Take It Like a Man. On stage those threads come together: intimate stories, melodies that linger, and the fiddle as a compass.
