Info
On 27 May 2026, Scotiabank Centre in Halifax hosts The Guess Who: Takin’ It Back Tour with Don Felder. Formed on the Winnipeg scene in the early 60s, The Guess Who shifted from British-influenced R&B to a tougher, psychedelic-leaning rock at the decade’s end. Under the name behind Wheatfield Soul, Canned Wheat, American Woman and Share the Land, the band today is built around drummer Garry Peterson, carrying a catalogue shaped by melodic guitars, stacked vocal harmonies and direct, uncluttered writing. On stage, they move between ballads and heavier cuts, reconnecting with a songbook that spans several eras of North American rock.
Don Felder, the Gainesville-born guitarist and songwriter, first surfaced in late-60s psych with Flow before becoming a sought-after player in Los Angeles. He joined Eagles in 1974, co-writing the guitar framework of Hotel California and honing a twin-guitar style that blends slide, ringing arpeggios and sharp riffs. Alongside session work for major pop and rock artists, he’s pursued a solo path with Airborne, Road to Forever and American Rock ’n’ Roll. Live, he leans into a clear, melodic rock sound, drawing on milestones from his Eagles years, film work and solo material.
