Info

On June 9, 2026, Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto hosts a heavy bill that brings together four faces of US extreme music: Spite, Emmure, Psycho-Frame and Rev3rent.

Spite, active since 2014 around vocalist Darius Tehrani, pushes a dense, percussive deathcore built on serrated riffs, sharp stop-start grooves and breakdowns that play with tempo and weight. From the early EPs to Nothing Is Beautiful, The Root of All Evil and Dedication to Flesh, the band refines a writing style that balances speed, drop-tuned impact and hardcore tension without losing a raw edge.

Formed in 2003, Emmure blends metalcore, deathcore and nu metal around Frankie Palmeri’s voice, with a trademark focus on breakdowns, dissonant patterns and a hip-hop sense of rhythm. From Goodbye to the Gallows and Felony through Speaker of the Dead and Eternal Enemies, the group has shaped a direct, percussive approach, later folding in electronic textures and nu metal colors on Look at Yourself and Hindsight.

Psycho-Frame represents the 2020s wave of deathcore: ultra-heavy riffs, staccato rhythms and a back-and-forth between high-pitched screams and gutturals, flirting with beatdown and metalcore. The songs stack contrasts and sudden drops, aiming for immediacy and impact while keeping arrangements tight.

Rev3rent, a California deathcore outfit, rounds out the lineup with a set rooted in the current American scene, adding another layer of low-end weight and modern phrasing to the evening.
