AC/DC bring the Power Up Tour to Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton on August 10, 2026. Formed in Sydney in 1973 by Malcolm and Angus Young, the band shaped a direct, blues-charged hard rock with a distinct edge. Early records like High Voltage, Let There Be Rock and Highway to Hell laid the ground, then came the Brian Johnson era and Back in Black in 1980. Through shifts and years, the core stays the same: taut riffs, steady grooves, call-and-response choruses. Power Up (2020), conceived as a salute to Malcolm Young, reconnects that thread and feeds a set that leans on decades of songs, carried by Angus Young’s guitar work.
Also on the bill, The Pretty Reckless, the New York outfit led by singer-guitarist Taylor Momsen with Ben Phillips, Mark Damon and Jamie Perkins. Since Light Me Up (2010), they’ve blended hard rock with post-grunge and a strain of classic rock, pairing heavy riffs with direct melodies and darker imagery. Going to Hell (2014), Who You Selling For (2016) and Death by Rock and Roll (2021) pushed a bluesier and more introspective side, shaping a sound framed by big choruses.
