Info
Beirut, the project of US musician Zach Condon from Santa Fe, will take the stage at the Stadtpark Open Air in Hamburg on July 7, 2026. Since the mid-2000s, Beirut has blended indie-pop and folk with nods to Balkan fanfares: trumpets, trombone, accordion, ukulele and acoustic percussion carry melodies that oscillate between a sense of departure and melancholy. From the home recordings of Gulag Orkestar (2006) an expanded live lineup emerged, one that embraces the orchestral side of The Flying Club Cup (2007) as well as the more concentrated forms of The Rip Tide (2011) and No No No (2015). With Gallipoli (2019), the compilation Artifacts (2022) and Hadsel (2023), Condon carries on this songwriting—close to chamber pop, folk and the travel diary. On stage, intimate sketches alternate with wide-open arrangements; brass, organ, strings and a dry beat add accents and shape Beirut’s sound.
