Romano - Live 2026

On 13 March 2026, Romano will bring his live set to the Artheater in Cologne. The rapper and singer Roman Geike, who grew up in Berlin-Köpenick, blends German pop tradition, rap and electronic influences, drawing on motifs from the former GDR and the culture of Berlin’s peripheral districts. Before he became visible as Romano in the mid-2010s, he was active in various local scenes under different aliases; early, visually distinctive videos quickly brought him attention in the German-language pop landscape.

With his debut Jenseits von Köpenick (2015) he established his voice: neighborhood stories, everyday observations and precisely drawn characters laid over hip-hop rhythms, schlager-adjacent hooks and synth-pop textures. Copyshop (2017) continued this approach and shifted the focus more toward the world of work, offices and standardized spaces; his delivery remains clearly articulated, often spoken-sung. Live, Romano plays with contrasts between his stage presence, popular references and a diverse audience. In Cologne he will span his repertoire and return to his Berlin theme — situated between pop, rap and electronic music, lyric-focused and beat-driven.
