Info
On 3 July 2026, Selig will take the stage at Music Hall Worpswede e.V. in Worpswede. The Hamburg band found its own approach to German-language rock in the early 1990s: grunge-soaked, tinged with psychedelia, and inclined toward melancholic lyrics. At the center are Jan Plewka’s distinctive voice and Christian Neander’s guitar, supported by a powerful rhythm section; in the early years keyboards added further accents. With Selig (1994), Hier (1995) and Blender (1997) — produced, among others, by Franz Plasa — the group shaped the rock landscape in the German-speaking world before splitting up in 1999. After reuniting in 2008, they released Und endlich unendlich (2009), Von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit (2010), Magma (2013), Kashmir Karma (2017) and Myriaden (2021). Live, Selig move between angular riffs and quiet, melodic moments; older songs meet new material more as a flow than as nostalgia, drawing a line through three decades of the band’s history. German-language rock with a grunge edge and a psychedelic sheen, carried by Plewka’s voice — that is the framework for this evening.
