On March 30, 2026, at the Gruenspan in Hamburg, Ari Abdul, a singer-songwriter from New York, will present her darker take on alternative pop, situated between indie rock, dream pop and subtle goth references. Known for self-released singles like “Babydoll” (2022), she relies on a calm, muted vocal reflected in dense reverb, while distorted guitars and slow, stoic rhythms carry the atmosphere. Her lyrics revolve around relationships, desire and an urban melancholy; sonically she brushes up against shoegaze textures but stays within clear, direct song formats.

In 2023 she consolidated this approach on the EP Fallen Angel and thereby also sharpened the visual direction of her project. Since then she has been steadily releasing new tracks and building a live set that translates the introspection of the studio recordings to the stage. In Hamburg she will perform a compact repertoire drawn from early singles, Fallen Angel and new material — a set that focuses her mix of delicate vocals, heavy guitars and slow, pulsing drive in a club format.
